General Positions
Activity Planner - Coordinate regular community activities, including but not limited to fundraising and information dissemination at many area locations, tabling at local events, etc. Valued skills: social work, friendliness. [3-15 hours a month] Workshop/Presentation Leader - Provide seminars and presentations on a variety of topics. Valuable skills include: knowledge in topic area, presentation skills. [2 times/month, Evenings or weekends]
Assistant Publicist - Design brochures, write press releases, take photos, plan and organize special PR & Fundraising Events. Help with the development of fundraising initiatives. Volunteers will work with the committee that meets once a month. Valued skills: desktop publishing, writing skills, marketing, sales, multi-lingual a plus! [3-5 hours / week] ____________________________________________________________________________
Fundraising Committee The fundraising committee helps to ensure the continuation of funds so that we may continue our mission. The committee meets monthly, and is made up of Individual Donor Solicitors, Special Events Organizers, Corporate Support Organizers, and Communications/PR volunteers.
- Individual Donor Solicitor – Establish personal contact with selected donors and help perform mass-mailings. Organize private occasions for targeted individual donors. Valued skills: social skills, comfort with soliciting donations, ability to follow through, prior fundraising experience. [Committee meets once a month. Follow up activity - 4 hours a month.]
- Special Events Organizer - Help plan, develop, organize, and implement special fund raising events (e.g. Garden Party, Bike-A-Thon, etc.). Valuable skills include: organization, ability to follow through, ability to plan, coordinate, and execute. [Monthly meeting for event coordinators]
- Corporate Support Organizer - Assists the Fundraising Committee in developing special events for potential corporate donors; makes written and phone contact with corporate leaders; designs promotional materials. Valuable skills include: familiarity with corporate relations, social skills, computer skills, organization, and follow-through. [Approx. 3 hours per week]
- Church Liaison - Contact religious congregations to encourage their participation and financial support. Most work could be done from home. Valued skills include: organization, social skills including ability to establish rapport. This individual is also part of the fundraising committee. [2-4 hours a month]

Volunteer Committee
The purpose of the committee is to promote a positive volunteer experience for those who generously contribute their time. The committee is concerned with scheduling, orienting, utilizing, retaining, and recognizing volunteers.
- Volunteer Recognition Organizer -
Description: Help organize an annual volunteer recognition event. [10 hours, once a year]. Help to develop and implement a system of thanking "first-time" volunteers and encouraging their continued participation. [3 hours every 2 weeks] Valued skills: organization, follow-through.

Information Technology
Data Entry Assistant – Enter new volunteer information into database, produce reports or mail merges for mailings. Valuable skills include: accurate typing, familiarity with computers, detail-oriented. [6-8 hours/week]
Office Assistant / Internet Researcher - Enter sponsor and donor information into databases, create new lists and leads from internet resources. Valuable skills include: accurate typing, familiarity with computers and the internet, detail-oriented. [10 hours/week]

Special Events
Assistant Supervisor - Help to oversee the entire event. Supervisors need to be on hand to coordinate volunteers and solve problems that arise. [Commitment is for the duration of one event – usually Friday -Sunday, but determined on a case-by-case basis. Also attend Event Committee Meetings once a month.]
Crew Leader - If you are familiar with special events, we want you! We are seeking several persons who would commit to assisting in supervising volunteer crews at least 2 events in a 12-month period. Preliminary and on-site training will be provided as needed.
- Supervisors will work under the general management of our professional Coordinator. [A one year commitment is required]
